There is no need to panic. It’s a robocall.

A robocall, according to FTC is a call that sends prerecorded messages via auto-dialing software and is delivered to millions of people every day. You are likely listening to a robotcall if you get a recorded message on your phone instead of hearing a person speak,

What should you do if you receive a RoboCall like this one?

If you cannot avoid saying “yes”, don’t say it.

Robocall scams often start with a question such as “Hello, can I hear you?”. People may answer “yes” without even thinking. They will then be able to store your confirmation and make fraudulent activities with it. Avoid saying “yes” when possible.

Do not follow the bot’s instructions

Sometimes, robocalls prompt you to act. For example, press 1 to speak with a representative or press 2 to unsubscribe. You are inviting robocalls by following the instructions. Do not take any action.

Report the call

You can report robocalls in the US to the Federal Trade Commission at Donot Call.gov. The FTC can help track down scammers by reporting the number that appears on your caller ID. The FTC receives the phone numbers that you report and makes them available to the public every business day. This is a benefit to phone carriers as well as other partners who are working on call blocking solutions. Law enforcement can also use reports to identify those responsible for illegal calls.
